There are good days in New Haven Public Schools... and then there are days that truly change lives!
On Friday, March 27th, we celebrated a massive milestone for our students and our city. As our first cohort of Manufacture New Haven Pathway (MNHP) graduates from Cross & Hillhouse prepare to walk across the stage, they aren’t just looking for “jobs”—they are launching careers.
Through this pathway, and our partnership with General Dynamics Electric Boat, our students are entering high-wage, high-demand fields that offer competitive salaries, full benefits, and rapid upward mobility. By opening these doors, we are fundamentally shifting the trajectory for our students and the generations to follow.
We are also proud to highlight that the career pathways team and EB have also partnered with The Sound School on this initiative, allowing students with a passion for aquaculture and maritime studies to transition their skills directly into the world of submarine construction with Electric Boat!
We are so proud of the tireless efforts our Career Pathways team has put in over the last four years to build this bridge. We are also beaming with pride for our first cohort of seniors who have set the bar high, paving the way for others to follow! Our mission is simple: giving our graduates meaningful choices the moment they step off the graduation stage. 🎓

Our first graders are working hard and having so much fun with Mrs. Marchitto at Truman School, mastering new skills! They had a busy week of hands-on learning:
• Sweet Math: They used Lucky Charms cereal to collect data, build our own colorful graphs, and solve math problems!
• Hundreds Chart Masters: They became experts at finding "10 more" and "10 less" using our hundred charts. It’s amazing to see the patterns start to click!
• Literacy Games: They turned their literacy centers into a Game Zone! They practiced letters and digraphs with Candy Land and leveled up the sight word skills using Jenga and Connect Four.
• March Madness Reading: The results are in! After weeks of intense competition and great discussions, they finally crowned their March Madness Reading Bracket Champion! Ask your student which book took the trophy home!
So proud of the focus and excitement these students bring to their learning every single day. Keep up the amazing work, team!
