New Haven Public Schools has entered a new partnership with General Dynamics Electric Boat that will connect students—particularly those in Career and Technical Education and manufacturing pathways—with professionals from one of Connecticut’s most prominent employers in advanced manufacturing and maritime engineering. Representatives of EB, ReadyCT, and the district gathered before an introductory presentation at Wilbur Cross High School.

The Ulysses S. Grant Foundation is an academic summer program for highly motivated middle school students who are enrolled in public and parochial schools in New Haven, CT. Students currently in grades 5-8 may apply. The program costs $75 to attend, and full scholarships are available

Yale Pathways to Arts & Humanities Summer Scholars - Summer Program for High Schoolers
Dates: July 20-July 31
Pathways to Arts & Humanities Summer Scholars is a 2-week intensive summer program for high school students. Students will explore topics of their choice in 5-day workshops with Yale faculty and students, including Creative Writing of Science Fiction, Mapping New Haven, Photography, Architecture, as well as workshops in music, philosophy, dance, and more!

Details of this program: Scholars participate in an 8-week summer session that includes didactic education, hands-on training in laboratory techniques, and completing a supervised research project. Students gain experience in reviewing scientific literature, conducting research in a laboratory, writing research summaries, and presenting research findings. This is a highly competitive internship, and preference will be given to current 11th graders. To apply, students must be New Haven residents, enrolled in New Haven Public Schools, and at least 16 years old by June 29, 2026.
