The 3rd and 4th-grade students from Mrs. Irizarry and Mrs. Pasan’s bilingual classes joined together in the Truman School library to share the joy of reading. It was an incredible morning at John C. Daniels School! Plory the Explorer (from i-Ready Math) and JCD's own Rosa the Husky joined the celebration honoring student growth and achievement in mathematics. According to Lisa Benard, math instructional coach at JCD, a record-breaking 190 students were recognized for already hitting 40% of their end-of-year stretch goals. Last week, Fair Haven School 5th and 6th graders as well as 7th and 8th graders won the New Haven Counts winter soccer tournament. We are so proud of our students for their teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship. We had a parade through the halls to celebrate all of our students that participated. #NHPS

They work hard academically every day, and they still need time to be kids. Physical activity supports focus and academic performance, and this win showed that clearly.
