Troup third graders in Ms. Spaner's class learned about the government in module 3 of Into Reading. They had the opportunity to interview the mayor of the North Star Borough of Fairbanks, Alaska through zoom to compare his experience to their reading. Then they conducted their own elections and were sworn in by Principal Foreman. #NHPS

Students at Troup School participated in a #STEAM Challenge that put their design skills to the test! K-4 students created turkey traps to go along with the book How to Catch a Turkey. Students in 5-8 designed and flew paper airplanes to see which could get the most distance. #NHPS

NHPS Athletic Event Attendance policy.
To ensure the safety of all students, guests and athletes, the following policy shall be enacted immediately
1. **Adult Supervision Required**: All students must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or older to enter the events, ensuring responsible supervision and safety.
2. **No Masks or Facial Coverings**: Attendees are not allowed to wear masks or facial coverings, the purpose of this is to ensure we know who is at all games. Clear identification keeps everyone safe.
3. **Suspension Policy**: Students who are currently suspended from school are not permitted to attend any athletic events. additionally, if a student creates or involved in a serious disturbance any athletic event, the student will be at risk for expulsion in accordance with New Haven Public School policy. We are reinforcing behavior standards and accountability for all guests of our events.

Our young scientists in Mrs. Perez-Estrada's class at Truman School are mastering STEM concepts! They ran a hands-on experiment, using cups to model how the Earth's surfaces (such as soil vs. water) heat up and cool down at different rates. Metro Class of 2027 hit the rails 🚆 and the rink 🏒! The Juniors joined 7,500 students from across CT to cheer on the Bridgeport Islanders.💙✨ Shout out to Mr. Kelly for coordinating the trip and sharing his love of hockey with Metro! 🏒🙌

An amazing group of Truman School third graders, including both bilingual and regular students, had an inspiring day at the Yale University Art Gallery!
Students explored the museum on a guided tour, discovering art in new ways by closely examining paintings and sculptures, focusing on colors, shapes, and form.
The best part? They became artists themselves! Through fun, hands-on activities, students created their own incredible art collages using felt , putting their artistic observations into practice. A fantastic day of creative learning!

Dear New Haven Families,
In a Heartbeat, a CT based nonprofit organization, will provide FREE cardiac screenings on Wednesday, December 3, during the school day, at the Floyd Little Athletic Center. The event is voluntary and pre-registration is encouraged. Follow the link on the flyer to register your student for this screening.
If your student does not attend Hillhouse High School, we will bus them in for the event.
The event will be staffed with volunteer technicians who can answer any questions you may have. Parents will receive EKG results from “In a Heartbeat” within two weeks.
Additionally, we are looking for volunteers for both medical and non-medical duties. Please contact Mike Papale, the founder of In A Heartbeat at
