Southern Connecticut State University student educator Avery Katz spoke with students at Fair Haven School about the health risks associated with vaping.
The event helped kick off Red Ribbon Week (October 23 through 31), a week celebrating substance-free living among young people. SCSU students are visiting NHPS elementary and high schools to speak in classrooms about the dangers of vaping and nicotine use.
These sessions are part of a larger initiative to educate the NHPS community about these risks and to provide information about treatment resources.
In collaboration with the College of Health and Human Services at Southern Connecticut State University, the programing includes online “lunch and learn” sessions available to families. The sessions are led by Victoria Adams, tobacco program coordinator at SCSU.
