Richmond Carl Ampah of James Hillhouse High School and Husna Hakimi of Wilbur Cross High School are the first students from their respective high schools to be admitted to the prestigious Peter E. Schwartz Discovery to Cure Internship Program at Yale University.
This program is rigorous—accepting no more than 20 students globally each year—and offers a six-and-a-half-week immersive experience in Yale’s world-class research labs. Under the mentorship of such renowned scientists as Dr. Elena Ratner, our students will be contributing to cutting-edge medical research and gaining hands-on experience that many don't encounter until well into their medical careers.
Watching our students break through these barriers is a testament to their hard work and the dedicated educators supporting them! We are so proud to see our two Health Career Academy Pathway students represented at the Yale School of Medicine this summer!
