Dear WHS Families,
It is with great excitement that we welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year at Worthington Hooker! It is our mission to ensure every student feels welcomed, connected with, and part of the Worthington Hooker community. In this welcome package, please find a letter from your child's teacher, a supply list, a letter from our wonderful PTA, and Emergency Contact/Dismissal information form (please return this form on the first day of school).
LOGISTICS
We are one K-8 school in two buildings:
Kindergarten-2 Grades: 180 Canner St., 475-220-3700
3rd-8th Grades: 691 Whitney Ave., 475-220-7200
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
The first day of School for all K-8 students is August 28th.
Our school hours are 8:35 am-2:50 pm. Arrival doors are open from 8:30 am- 8:40 am. Students are marked tardy after 8:40 am. Please make every effort to ensure your children arrive on time. This will provide them with the time to prepare for the day ahead and participate in morning procedures and activities. All WHS students are driven to school or are walkers. Because of this, it is extremely important that we exercise extreme caution and follow all procedures for arrival and dismissal.
CANNER ST. ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
All kindergarten and 1st grade students will enter through the front doors at 8:30 am. All 2nd graders will enter through the back doors near the playground. Students enter the building with the support of WHS and parents and guardians do not enter at arrival. We are not permitted to allow students to enter any earlier. Double parking is not permitted on Canner St., as this causes dangerous congestion and decreased visibility. We ask that you please park farther down on Canner St. or any surrounding street in order to provide staff with a clear visual of all students entering the school.
Grades will dismiss from the following locations at 2:50 pm:
Kindergarten: Front doors
1st Grade: Back doors (on the playground)
2nd Grade: Café doors
WHITNEY AVE. ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
All students will enter through the first set of double doors at 8:30 am. We are not permitted to allow students to enter any earlier unless they have a band lesson.
