Thursday 4/23 - F-Day

All Book club members with signed permission slips should meet TODAY in the library at 9:15 am for our trip.

There will be a meeting for everyone interested the after school fishing program in George's room (Foote 715) after school today.

Attention all juniors! The prom has been opened up to you for one week only!  If you’d like to attend prom, you can purchase a ticket from Megan in Thomas 416 by the end of the day on Monday, April 27th.  If you plan to bring a date, you’ll need to purchase a second ticket and obtain a permission slip from Megan.

The waterfront is open!  Who's ready to sail Sharpies? Interested in learning to sail in a non-competitive environment?   Or improve existing sailing skills?  Perhaps meet new friends while spending the afternoon on the water? Join the Sharpie Sailing club!  Sharpie sailing meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:30-4:30pm.  Anyone interested should come to our first Sharpie Sailing meeting on Tuesday, April 28th in Emerson 107 directly after school.  Please see Michele Fucci or Nick DeGiacomo with any questions. Hope to see you there!

Get your wallets ready because Market Day is officially happening TOMORROW during all three lunch periods! Our talented Small Business Entrepreneurs have worked tirelessly to launch unique shops featuring exclusive products you won’t find anywhere else. Support your fellow entrepreneurs, grab some delicious treats or high-quality gear. Students will be accepting cash and electronic payments, such as CashApp.

This month at The Sound Library, we’re letting the books do the talking by celebrating the power of Poetry with a twist! Come check out our latest display featuring Spine Label Poetry. By carefully stacking books, we’ve created "found poems”. It’s amazing what happens when different voices and stories lean on one another to create something entirely new. Come get inspired, grab a book, and see the library from a whole new perspective.

Yearbook Ordering is DIFFERENT this year:

  • This applies to students in ALL grades.. an important reminder: if you want a yearbook this year… you actually have to order one by May 8th. That’s right—no magical pile of extra books, no “I’ll just grab one later,” no yearbook fairy dropping one into your backpack, no "oh look, it's May 10th maybe I should order a yearbook now" that is after May 8th and it will be too late to order!

  • Yearbooks must be ordered online by May 8th, and only students who order by May 8th will get one. Once they’re gone… they’re gone.. like your motivation after lunch... we know that YONDR pouches took your cameras away, so we saved the memories for you!

  • Don’t let those memories drift away like a boat without an anchor after May 8th.  The link to order is in the electronic version of announcements and on all of the Google Classroom "Class of..." pages.

https://shop.yearbookmarket.com/thesoundschool

An announcement for SENIORS: If you have not submitted your senior profile, portrait, or baby picture... no need to worry, Katie plans to send the forms to your parents/guardians and ask them to fill it out for you. If you want to avoid this, finish them this week on the "Senior Activities" Google Classroom Page.

Paint Night at Sound Monday 4/27: Join us as we paint a lighthouse scene, snack, and vote on this year’s winning waterfront T-shirt design.  Please use this link to sign up by this Saturday, April 25th.

  • When: Monday 4/27/2026 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM

  • Where: McNeil Cafeteria

  • Cost: $15 per adult, $10 per student/child

(includes all supplies and 1 8x10 canvas) This is a friends and family event - parents, family, friends, students, and faculty are welcome! All participants require individual registration and ticket.*

Seniors - Prom season should be magical, not stressful!  That's why Smart MLS, together with the New Haven School District, the New Haven Police Activities League, Dutchess restaurants, and executive cleaners is hosting a Prom Dress giveaway for local high school students.  Join us this Saturday, March 28th from 11:00 am to 2:00 p.m. at James Hillhouse High School in New Haven, where students can choose a beautiful FREE prom dress!  No Cost.  No Pressure.  Just an amazing community event.

Our art teacher wants to make sure our students have exactly what they need to succeed in art, so she’s created a project through DonorsChoose, the nonprofit classroom funding site for public school teachers. Any support would mean so much to the students. In return, you'll receive our heartfelt gratitude. Thank you for considering a gift to Sound School Art class!
