Please congratulate the following students grades 6-12 on their amazing accomplishments as we definitely dominated our FBLA State Competition with a great showing at the FBLA State Leadership Conference. All of these students worked extra hard bringing the diversity and pizzaz to the stage and represent New Haven County School District. As a former product of FBLA as a student in high school, I thank each and every teacher for volunteering and supporting our students as they are learning amazing leadership, communication, and other skills and experiences that will last them a lifetime. To celebrate their accomplishments, the students went bowling with free food and drinks and had a great time all provided by Alex Lugo from OBG.
The skills students gain in FBLA are useful in many different career fields: economics, agribusiness, healthcare management, computer science, and journalism, just to name a few. Whatever their interest, FBLA can help prepare students for further education or the workforce through competitive events, free partner programs, educational workshops, and more. In fact, a survey of members shows that FBLA helps them in areas as time management, collaboration/teamwork, critical thinking/problem-solving, leadership/decision making, and social responsibility–all skills important to helping students succeed in the real world.
