Dear New Families,
Welcome to the Edgewood School Family! We look forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure your child’s success. In order to be successful in school, children need support from both home and school. Please help guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that they:
Attend school daily and arrive on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
Regular school hours: 8:20 AM - 2:50 PM
Early dismissal hours: 8:20 AM - 12:50 PM
Complete all assignments on time
Read something of interest every day to develop a love for reading and improve skills
Share school experiences with you so that you are aware of their school life (e.g., “tell me about your day at school”); avoid Yes/No questions
Inform you if they need additional support in any area or subject so you can advocate for them or support their own advocacy
Know that you expect them to succeed in school to be ready for college and career
Check their PowerSchool for grade and attendance updates - YOU can check too!
Get Involved
Please consider joining our school volunteer program since our students can benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school’s program and its operations. We have many opportunities for parents to volunteer during and after school hours. Please contact our Parent Liaison for more information - click here for our staff list for contact information. The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is another way for parents/guardians to support our school.
Additional Resources
Our school website has many resources for Families including a school events calendar (this includes descriptions about our traditions and events), classroom webpages, and staff contact information just to name a few. Our Wednesday schedule includes our exciting ECHO program (enrichment for ALL). We will share our work from ECHO at the end of each quarter during Town Meetings - see our school events calendar on the website (click here) for more details. Please also follow us on Instagram @Edgewood_STEAM for an insider-view of our school.
Our Vision
We advocate for an inclusive Edgewood community where everyone values and respects all cultures. We are committed to dismantling systems of racism and inequalities, while celebrating individuality and identity. Edgewood STEAM students are taught to think critically about their environment so they can grow to be the change they desire to see in the world.

We look forward to working with you as a team to have a successful school year.
