Annual Arts Festival Builds Community at Family Academy

The annual Family Academy Arts Festival builds community in collaboration with parents, artists, arts organizations, and other community partners. Students have the opportunity to participate in three, one-hour workshops.

Above left, Angel Diaz-Aleres leads second graders Diana Miranda and Gustavo Rodriguez in a wood sculpture project. At right, volunteers Maria Perez and Brenda Ortega and eighth grader Mariana Hernandez-Corona lead a mask-making workshop for a kindergarten group.

Below left, Co-Op High School junior Hayden Earnshaw gives a lesson in ukulele to fourth grade students Maria Chacon, Melany Conce, Alexander Corona, Jaquelin Cruz, Gisel Cueto, and Adnrew Castro. Right, volunteer Nurys De Le Cruz works with kindergarteners on flower pot designs.
