The Summer High School Credit Recovery Program is designed to provide a learning environment in which high school students can engage in meaningful instructional activities as they develop needed skills and competencies. The focus of all summer course work is developing needed skills and interactive learning strategies. Teachers are carefully selected and highly qualified. They have expertise in their content areas as well as the ability to stimulate and motivate students to learn and remain on task. They prepare learning events to maximize students' opportunities to gain new concepts through developmentally appropriate content.
Credit Recovery Summer courses are designed to provide students the instructional content and hours needed for most subject(s) that they received failing grades. Skills development, learning strategies, content strand mastery, and holistic applications are prioritized in order to enhance continuous progress. THIS SUMMER PROGRAM IS ONLY FOR COURSE FAILURE – NO EXCEPTIONS.
Students enrolled in grades 9-12 who wish to receive extra instruction time for a course which failing grade was received. Students may receive up to two full credit in two of the offered subject areas. Admission is granted on a first come, first served basis with current seniors given priority. Credits earned for summer courses will be awarded pending appropriate attendance and achievement (see attendance policy).
Mondays through Fridays beginning on July 1, 2021 and ending on July 30, 2021.
First Class contact will begin at 8:15 A.M. Second period class contact will begin at 10:30 A.M. and end at 12:30 P.M. Students are expected to attend daily.TWO or more absences will result in credit being denied. Three days marked Tardy results in ONE absence. In the event of course failure, no credit will be earned.
