School Change Initiative

 
New Haven School Change seeks to dramatically improve student performance and prepare New Haven public school students to attend and succeed in college.
 
Through the hard work  and close collaboration of our educators, admininstrators, and staff, the New Haven Public Schools have made strong progress in recent years.  School Change seeks to build on those successes with the goal of making New Haven the best urban school district in America.
 
We aim to achieve that goal by :
 

• Raising test scores to at least the state average, eliminating the achievement gap;

• Cutting the high school dropout rate in half;

• Ensuring every student is academically prepared and financially able to attend, succeed in and graduate from college.
