NEW HAVEN – On Friday, September 4th Murtha Cullina Law Offices presented a check for $1,000 to the first grade class at East Rock Global Studies Magnet School. East Rock first grade teachers plan to use that money towards an exciting field trip that has yet to be planned.   In addition to the monetary donation, the law firm also donated an array of school supplies, including backpacks, rulers, folders, and colored pencils.
The firm raised the money by preparing an Italian cuisine luncheon that was cooked and prepared by Murtha Cullina Law Office employees.  They also held a bake sale to raise additional money.  The staff at the firm wanted to donate to East Rock Magnet School after hearing that many of the teachers were using their own money to purchase supplies for students.  They felt it was important to support New Haven teachers, and combined their efforts to make a considerable, appreciated donation.
