Mayor Harp and Superintendent Harries will be celebrating Saturday Academy students, teachers and staff at the first Festival of Student Learning. Parents, community and other guests will have the opportunity to see students engaging in academic enrichment through teaching and technology, team building activities and youth development opportunities.  Saturday Academy was launched on January 9, 2016 at Clemente, Fair Haven, Troup and Wexler School and serves students from New Haven Public Schools.

Saturday Technology and Gaming Academy is a ground breaking student enrichment, growing and fun extended day series to enhance student learning. The program is aligned with the NHPS regular day school curriculum and provides additional time for students to study, learn and practice. It is intentional in building on student learning and accommodates the standards of the common core in the areas of reading and math.

Saturday Academy engages students by integrating social emotional supports, teambuilding, technology, games and online learning. Motivational activities, technology and student choice opportunities are incorporated within the program to support youth development, student learning and engagement.
