NHPS students to perform with the U.S. Navy Concert Band

America's Navy is coming to New Haven, Connecticut, one of 23 cities in 5 states to host a performance by the United States Navy Band during its 2016 tour -- one of the Navy's signature outreach programs.
The United States Navy Band Concert Band performance is scheduled for March 12, 2016, 7 p.m. at Woolsey Hall Yale University. Tickets are FREE and available online at: http://usnavyband.eventbrite.com or in person at the Shubert Theater box office on College Street in New Haven.
The Navy Concert Band, the premier wind ensemble of the U.S. Navy, presents a wide array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral transcriptions and modern wind ensemble repertoire. As the original ensemble of the Navy Band, the Concert Band has been performing public concerts and participating in high-profile events for nearly 90 years.

The following New Haven Public Schools students will be joining the band in performance:
Brianna Chance - Wilbur Cross High School - Flute
Charlie Orr - Wilbur Cross High School - Bb Clarinet
Laura Rosado - Wilbur Cross High School - Percussion 
Juan Pablo Rodriguez - Wilbur Cross High School - Alto Sax
Jose Ayala - Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School - Trumpet
Javier Padilla - Cooperative Arts and Humanities - Clarinet

The concerts are family-friendly events, meant to be entertaining to veterans, families, individuals and those interested in joining the Navy. All Navy Band performances are free and open to the public.
