Early Childhood Commissioner reads at John S. Martinez

On Friday, January 22, 2016 Early Childhood Commissioner, Dr. Myra Jones-Taylor, visited the Head Start program at the John S. Martinez School in New Haven to take part in their dual language program encouraging early literacy. Commissioner Jones-Taylor read “Three Billy Goats Gruff” to the children and their parents.
This program is funded through the Early Literacy grant from the Office of Early Childhood and private funding from Graustein Memorial Fund and is a partnership of the New Haven Early Childhood Council and New Haven Public Schools. As part of New Haven’s grant, the Connecticut Children's Museum implements family workshops to support early literacy in young children.
