Latino Student Forum at SCSU

Over 150 students from 26 schools in New Haven participated in the Latino Student Forum held in the Adanti Student Center Ballroom at Southern Connecticut State University.  The forum was organized by the Connecticut Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (CALAS), a newly formed organization whose mission is to support all students’ growth and success. Students learned the importance of paying attention in school so that they may have the opportunity to attend college on scholarship. They also learned of career opportunities after obtaining both a high school diploma and higher education degree.

Students from Roberto Clemente Leadership Academy presented above aspire to become doctors, artists, & lawyers. They are considering Southern University, Yale University and Law School to help attain the credentials needed to propel them to succeed in life. This vibrant group has the confidence to make their dreams a reality and have been inspired by the many examples of success at the forum.
