Graduation rates in New Haven Public Schools are increasing!

New Haven is celebrates the 6th year of increased graduation rates. This is a huge milestone for New Haven School Change and is direct reflection of all of the hard work of many educators, leaders, parents and community partners. NHPS has prioritized making sure students are engaged in their work and their future, helping students make the transition from 8th grade to high school, and preparing students for success in college, career and life.
New Haven Academy is a model school for college readiness with nearly 100% college acceptance rate for graduates, College Bound Seminar courses, partnerships with universities and college courses, and a focus on career exploration. New Haven Academy has seen the most improvement along with three other schools: Hillhouse High School- 69.4%, Hyde School of Health Science and Sports Medicine -89.2%, and Metropolitan Business Academy- 90.2%.
NHPS is proud to see our goal of empowering students to complete high school, on time, prepared, and engaged in their future come to light with hopes of continuing to see improvement. We would like to thank all of our partners Gov. Dannel Malloy and State Delegation, Mayor Toni Harp and New Haven Alders, President of the New Haven Federation of Teachers Dave Ciccarella, President of School Administrators Association, Patricia Melton of New Haven Promise, Community Foundation, United Way, BOOST, Yale University, Southern Connecticut State University, Gateway Community College & Quinnipiac University.
Together we will continue to see our students Rise!
