NHPS students participate in study on effects of energy drink consumption

Middle schools students from New Haven Public schools participated in a cross-sectional study which concluded that middle school children are 14% more likely to display symptoms of hyperactivity and inattentiveness. The study examined the effects of energy drinks Red Bull and Monster on children ages 10-14. Researchers believe energy drink advertising should be regulated in order to limit consumption especially to those appealing to the youth. The effects of prolonged energy drink consumption lead to medical problems, addiction, and poor school performance.
