Media features Lincoln Basset students and scholarship recipient from COOP at MLK Love March

The New Haven community gathered in the name of love to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at the 45th Annual Love March at Shiloh Baptist Church on 100 Lawrence Street. Lincoln-Bassett’s chorus marched and sang at the service where Donijah Collier, senior of Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School received the Rev. George W. Hampton Scholarship. The students and the community marched the streets of New Haven with voices and sign of hope. Mayor Toni Harp, Supt. Garth Harries, Police Chief Dean Esserman and command staff, US Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, State Sen. Gary Holder-Winfield, State Treasurer Denise Nappier, and Attorney Michael Jefferson were some of the few delegates attending the event.

NHPS is a proud supporter of this New Haven tradition of peace, hope, unity, respect, and the struggle to push forward. Together we rise to success.
