The media features the $1 million grant to help the kids of Newhallville feel safe
 
Mayor Toni Harp, Jason Bartlett the director of youth services, New Haven Family Alliance, New Haven Police Department, Youth at Work, Board of Alders, and clergy of the Newhallville area talk of plans to reform the Newhallville community bringing safety so that kids can feel safe to play in parks again. There are many issues facing this crime ridden area. This grant can be utilized to create opportunity to lessen the crime rate and support the innocent of the community. Many youth from the New Haven Public Schools live in this area and are affected daily. This grant brings hope that New Haven will be able to reshape the structure of the neighborhood and support its needs.
