The New Haven Independent features a debate on building relations with Achievement First

The proposed Elm City Imagine School was the topic of debate at the board meeting on January 12th. The debate surrounded the goal of ensuring a fair share enrollment across the Achievement First network, suspension rates, and maintaining a strong relationship between the two parties. CEO Dacia Toll agrees that given the skepticism, collaboration with the district is the best way to rectify the concerns.  John Taylor, executive director of Booker T. Washington Academy shared his experience with his successful workings with New Haven Public Schools stating “the school could not have opened without the help of both AF and the district”. Superintendent Garth Harries believes Elm City Imagine will “deepen and extend school change.”
