NEW HAVEN REGISTER COVERS SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS PACKING THANKSGIVING DINNERS FOR DISTRIBUTION TO HUNDREDS OF NEW HAVEN-AREA FAMILIES
For the fifth year in a row, volunteers from New Haven Public Schools and AFB Facilities management will come together to pack donated Thanksgiving meals for hundreds of families in New Haven schools and surrounding areas. The meals will be distributed Wednesday at school to needy families.
Thanks to generous contributions and donations totaling over $37,000, AFB will be able to distribute 1,625 complete meals to needy families in New Haven, Stamford, East Haven and West Haven this year.
Each basket will contain a full Thanksgiving dinner for a family of six, including turkey, dinner rolls, stuffing, veggies, mashed potatoes cranberry sauce and pumpkin or apple pie.
