District applying for three 21st Century Community Learning Center grants

The NHPS district is happy to announce it is applying for three 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) grants. Schools that have been designated to apply are as follows: Hillhouse, Wilbur Cross, Hyde, Fair Haven, Columbus, Martinez, Clinton Ave., Hill Central, Clemente, and Truman. Some or all of these sites may be granted funding to offer quality afterschool programs (on and/or off campus). Students who attend these schools are eligible to participate in 21CCLC grant-funded activities that may also include before school, weekend, vacation time, and summer offerings.
The purpose of the grant is to provide out-of-school-time learning opportunities for the community’s youth and to support New Haven’s children in their educational and developmental goals. Additionally, program activities will be available for New Haven resident students who attend private and parochial schools.  Please contact Renee Osborne at 203-946-7872 to learn more about potential program offering specifics, participant eligibility, and other 21CCLC-related information. Grant award notification is expected in the fall; this message will be updated should an award be granted.
