School district workers serve free hot meals to the community

On Monday, New Haven Public Schools served free hot meals to residents, families and students at Hillhouse High School and Wilbur Cross High School. We sent buses around town and to New Haven Housing Authority/Elm City Communities sites to transport residents and families to the schools for a free lunch. The food was not served in school Friday due to the snow day and is not needed this week because students are off for Winter Break.
The meal service was made possible through the work of many volunteers, including school bus drivers, school security workers, school cafeteria workers, who are preparing the food, and school custodians, who are transporting the food. Partners included the New Haven House Authority, First Student bus company, AFB Facilities Management.
