1:30 update: Security Situation at Hillhouse

Security Situation at Hillhouse High School - Thursday, Dec. 19
1:30 p.m.
Lockdown has been lifted. Police will maintain a presence at the school throughout dismissal as a precaution.
12:30 p.m.
Hillhouse is now in modified lockdown, with students able to move around the building, going to lunch and classes. Parents are being allowed to pick up students in small groups and with police escorts. Police will continue to have a presence at the school through dismissal. Security precautions being taken out of an abundance of caution in response to the phoned in threat.
11 a.m. -
Hillhouse High Schools is temporarily in lockdown as we work with police to investigate a phoned in threat. The threat was called into 911 from a payphone at 10:04 a.m. Out of an abundance of caution, the school was placed on lockdown and the superintendent, principal and school officials are working with police to address the situation.
As they are every day, security measures including metal detectors were in use this morning and school resource officers were stationed at the school.
The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff are always our top priority. We are working closely with police to resolve the situation so students can return to a normal day of learning. Please check back here for updates.
