NEW HAVEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO HOLD CONNECTICUT MASTERY TEST PEP RALLIES FRIDAY, MARCH 1, TO KICK OFF TESTING WEEK

Resources available on NHPS website for parents who want to help prepare their kids for CMTs

New Haven Public Schools will be hosting Connecticut Mastery Test rallies on Friday, March 1, to get students excited and ready to excel on the CMTs next week.

Additionally, this year parents can access CMT and CAPT review materials on the NHPS website. Students can use the links provided to review the types of questions and think about how they would answer. Teachers may be reviewing this in class discussion groups as well.

The CMT rallies cap months of hard work and preparation by staff and students. Success on the CMTs is a key component of New Haven School Change Initiative reforms and students who do well on these tests lay the groundwork to succeed in college and beyond.

Media are invited to attend the following CMT rallies tomorrow. Great opportunities for photos and video!

Ross-Woodward’s CMT pep rally will include a student vs. staff volleyball game where the cheerleaders from Wilbur Cross will pump up the crowd. At the end of the pep-rally we will culminate by giving every student a dog tag with our creed "Explorer's Way" on it to wear during testing as a motivational reminder that we believe in them.
