Students at New Haven's Hillhouse High School take 2nd place with documentary

NEW HAVEN — Sgt. Walter Bailey told three James Hillhouse High School juniors that during World War II, race didn’t matter because everyone bleeds red.
The documentary, called “One Step Closer: African Americans in World War II,” portrayed military discrimination in World War II and to the students’ surprise, the lack thereof.

New Haven Students are State Champs!

          New Haven Students make History at History Day Event bringing home State Titles to New Haven
          Four New Haven Public School Student were awarded State Championship medals at the the CT State History Competition on Saturday April 28, 2012.   
          Martin Clark And Quincy Ponvert from Worthington Hooker School claimed the State title for their original performance piece "Galileo and the Copernican Theory."  Also receiving a First Place Award were Angelique Boyd and Christine Puglisi from Metro Business Academy for their performance piece  "The Power of Music: Ain't That a Shame."
