District to Reschedule Magnet Lottery for March 27

New Haven Public Schools Magnet Lottery Rescheduled
 
The New Haven Public Schools has announced that the Magnet Lottery scheduled for March 13, 2012 will be rescheduled by two weeks until March 27, 2012.  As the Magnet Office prepared for the lottery, what appear to be isolated errors were detected as pre-lottery reviews were conducted.  In order to confirm accuracy of the applications which are in excess of 9,000 the District in consultation with its independent consultant has determined that the best course is to confirm all aspects of the data over the next two weeks.
 
The lottery will now take place at 10:00 a.m. on March 27, 2012 in the Board Room on the 2nd Floor of the Board of Education Central Offices on 54 Meadow Street.
 
"We are very cognizant of the need to conduct the lottery through an independent and transparent process.  In order to achieve that goal we need these two weeks to confirm the application data in order to allow our independent consultant to procede with the lottery” said Dr. Reginald Mayo, Superintendent of Schools.
