NEW HAVEN INTER-DISTRICT MAGNET SCHOOL FAIR RESCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, JANUARY 14
 
 
 
The Inter-District Magnet School Fair for suburban parents considering sending their child to a New Haven magnet school has been rescheduled for Saturday, January 14.
 
 
 
If you have a New Haven Public Schools calendar, please note the change on your calendar.
 
 
 
The fair will be noon to 2 p.m. at Hill Regional Career High School, 140 Legion Avenue, New Haven. All 17 New Haven inter-district magnet schools will be represented.
 
 
 
New Haven magnet schools are open to all New Haven and state residents. They offer a wide variety of specialized study, including the arts, business, aquaculture, international affairs, media and science and engineering. Admission is determined by a lottery scheduled for March 13, 2012.
 
 
 
Important dates are:
 
 
 
·         Monday, December 12, 2011—8th Grade High School Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Floyd Little Athletics Center, 480 Sherman Parkway, New Haven;
 
 
·         Wednesday, January 4, 2012—Magnet school applications become available in the magnet office located at 54 Meadow Street, New Haven or online at newhavenmagnetschools.com;
 
 
·         Wednesday, January 4, 2012—Citywide New Haven Magnet School Fair for New Haven residents from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Floyd Little Athletics Center, 480 Sherman Parkway, New Haven. All magnet, charter and ACES schools will be represented;
 
 
·         Saturday, January 14, 2012—New Haven Inter-District Magnet Fair for suburban residents from noon to 2 p.m. at Hill Regional Career High School, 140 Legion Avenue, New Haven. All 17 city magnet inter-district schools will be represented;
 
 
·         Friday, February 17, 2012—Deadline for magnet school applications;
 
 
 
·         Tuesday, March 13, 2012—Magent school lottery, 10 a.m., 54 Meadow Street, New Haven.
