BARNARD SCHOOL OPENS NEW COMPUTER LAB THANKS TO HOSPITAL OF SAINT RAPHAEL DONATION

Barnard Environmental Studies Magnet School cut the ribbon today on its new computer lab made possible through a donation from the Hospital of Saint Raphael.

The new lab has 18 computers paid for with a $13,000 gift from Saint Raphael’s. Saint Raphael’s was able to support the new Library Computer Center through a donation it received that was specifically earmarked for community outreach.

"Saint Raphael's has an ongoing commitment to our neighborhood, including a long partnership with Barnard School,” Saint Raphael President and CEO Christopher O’Connor said.
“We are grateful that the generosity of one of our donors has further supported those efforts and will benefit our community.”

“I just want to thank the Hospital of Saint Raphael for this generous gift,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Reginald Mayo said, “Saint Raphael’s is giving Barnard students the gift of knowledge and enlightenment. These computers will enhance learning and help the district meet its School Change goal of improving academic performance. The district is deeply appreciative of Saint Raphael’s support.”

“This new computer lab is a tremendous addition to Barnard School,” Barnard School Principal Michael Crocco said. “We are very grateful to Saint Raphael’s for providing the funds to purchase these new computers. They will further strengthen Barnard students’ academic performance, as well as fire their imaginations.”
