For students to learn, they must be safe, healthy, and emotionally secure.
Boost! is a partnership between the United Way of Greater New Haven, the city of New Haven, and New Haven Public Schools to offer and coordinate services for students in and out of school. Boost! is aimed at providing wraparound social services for students, including health care, counseling, and family support.
In addition to assisting academic success, Boost! seeks broader postive student, family and school outcomes:
Student and Family Outcomes

  • Students are healthy – physically, socially, emotionally
  • Students are prepared for school entry
  • Students attend school consistently
  • Families welcomed in schools and engaged in their children's education

System Outcomes

  • Safe, healthy and positive school environments
  • Improved access to high quality support services for youth and families
  • Efficient use of existing and new resources in schools and in the community
