Click Here to Take 2011 School Climate Survey

Last year we launched our first annual school learning enviornment surveys. These surveys allowed us to gather information from students, teachers and parents about how they feel about the climate in their school. Principals and school community members were able to use the feedback they received from their stakeholders to make improvements to the school environment.
School Learning Environment Surveys are also a major component of our nationally recognized School Change Initiative.  The District used the survey results as a major factor in tiering all New Haven Public Schools last month.  Schools also used the results in many important ways such as increasing communication with parents and offering additional enrichment activities for students.  Each school’s survey results are available below.
Last year only 23% of parents district wide took advantage of the opportunity to let their voice be heard. Your opinion is important to the district, your principal, your school community, and most importantly to your child. Please fill out the survey below to tell us about your child’s school - where they are doing a good job, and where they could do better.
