As part of BRAMS fifth grade speaker program, Ms. Mireille Van Hecke, will inform our students about her home country’s customs and culture. She is a native of Holland and presently a social work intern at BRAMS. Ms. Van Hecke will share a power point presentation and field questions from BRAMS fifth grade students.

Barnard Canoes the West River

Description: Grade 6 students will learn about watersheds as they canoe the West River with New Haven Parks and attend workshops led by educators from Solar Youth.

Barnard Fall Garden Cleanup

Description:  Barnard families will help to put the garden to rest for the season. They will be planting winter cover crops, constructing the covered garden plot.  Apple cider and other seasonal treats will be served.

A program focusing on the concepts of force and motion, part of the district science curriculum, will be presented to grade 8 students by educators from the science center.  The program is made possible by a grant from Dunkin Donuts.
