“New Haven Cooks” (“Cocina New Haven”) is a bilingual cook book that celebrates the various cultures in New Haven by showcasing recipes created by people in our community! 
 High School in the Community cook, Cheryl Barbara, submitted her recipe for marinated green beans to the cook book and NHPS Executive Chef Tim Cipriano’s favorite school lunch treat “Squapple” is also featured. (To learn more about “squapple” and the other recipes in the book, click here and read the article that was published in the New Haven Register).  Throughout the school year, recipes from “New Haven Cooks” will be used in the school lunch program.  It is a great way to introduce even more healthy and locally grown items into the student menu.
