PARKS & RECREATION
Ronn Stephens is the Supervisor for the Parks & Recreation Program at Nathan Hale. It is his responsibility to provide recreational programs and activities for residents of the community.
Students get to participate in scheduled after school, early evening, and occasional Saturday programs and activities. Parents and other adults in the community are also serviced, primarily during the evening.
Competitive team sports that are scheduled for Nathan Hale students during this school calendar year include flag football for 5th & 6th graders, volleyball for 6th, 7th, & 8th graders, basketball for 3rd & 4th graders, basketball for 5th & 6th graders, and beach volleyball.
Less competitive activities include the newly formed Cheerleading Club for 7th & 8th graders, wiffleball, tennis, dodgeball, kickball, and open gym.
Contests, where the winners eventually compete on a city-wide basis include Pass and Kick for boys and girls 9 - 14 years of age, and Hot Shots for the same age group.
During the year Mr. Stephens gives the students opportunities to sign up for these activities.
