Library Media Center Rules

Individual Student Use

Students who have a pass from their course teachers may work in the library media center. Students without a pass will be asked to get one.

Those students who do not have a class for some approved reason can do school work or read quietly in the library with permission from the library media specialist.

Checking out materials

Books from the non-reference section may be checked out for two weeks. While we do not charge fines, we will withhold report cards, student schedules, transcripts, progress reports, caps and gowns and diplomas if all books are not returned or renewed. Students with more than one overdue book may not check out more books until at least one of the overdue books is returned or renewed.

Reference books may be checked out for use overnight.

Students are advised not to lend other students books that they have checked out. Should the item be lost, the student who checked it out will be the one to pay for it.

Computers

Students may use the computers for school work only during school hours. There is absolutely no printing of non-school related materials. Students who do are subject to loss of computer privileges.

Only students who have permission to use the Internet may do so. A parent signature is required.

Behavior

There is a zero tolerance for rude behavior in the library media center. Anyone displaying rude behavior will be asked to leave.

Students are warned not to leave backpacks in the library media center. Any backpacks parked in the library will be taken to the main office.
