Project Lead the Way (PLWY) – Pre-Engineering Program

The United States is suffering from a severe shortage of engineers and well-educated technical workers.  Job growth is increasing faster in the best paying occupations.  Computer/information sciences, engineering and technology related occupations pay an average of 57% more than jobs in education, philosophy and social work, according to Workforce 2020.  The goal of this program is to provide students with experiences in engineering and engineering technology.  The PLWY Pre-Engineering Program graduate will be better prepared for engineering programs in college or technical school and will be more likely to succeed.

PLWY Pre-Engineering Program

·        Meets national standards for mathematics, science, and technology education.

·        Offers a complete career/technical concentration with an emphasis on both science and mathematics.

·        Links demanding mathematics and science courses with quality academic/technical courses.

Further requirements:  4 years of mathematics ending in Trig or 

                                     Calculus

                                     Integrated Science, Biology, Chemistry,

                                     Physics
