Betsy Ross serves 500 students from Grades 5-8, 350 from New Haven and 150 from surrounding suburbs.
On February 25, 2002 the arts magnet program at Betsy Ross opened in a new building designed as a creative arts school with specialized classrooms, display areas and performance facilities. The building is located directly off I-95 in New Haven making access easy and convenient.
Betsy Ross is a performing and creative arts middle school featuring the following:
- Dance-Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Tap
- Instrumental and Vocal Music

- Visual Arts-Drawing, Painting, Photography, Video, Sculpting
