Read About The Process: Important Application Form Guidelines
- Visit the Schools you are interested in.
We urge you to take advantage of the open house dates.
Call the school for more information or to arrange a visit.
- Select only those schools you are willing to attend.
The priority will be to assign you to your first preference;
however, you may be assigned to any one of your listed
choices. If you refuse to accept one of your listed choices, you
will not be on the waiting list for any of your choices.
- Selecting the same school more than once does not improve
chances. You will be assigned to your first choice if there is
an available seat.
- Submit your application before the deadline for the best chance to be accepted.
Application process:
- If you already attend a magnet school you do not need to reapply to that magnet school.
- Late applications will be accepted but will be placed at the end of the waiting list.
- You may list up to three school choices on your application.
- You will be assigned to one of your choices by a random selection process. The selection process is designed to create a geographic balance of students.
- Preference will be given when a sibling is currently enrolled in the school you wish to attend. The sibling must reside in the same household.
- If more than one child in a family is applying to the same school, each child must complete a separate application form.
- After being accepted into a school, parents must confirm that their child will attend before the acceptance confirmation deadline.
- If you are not accepted for one of your choices, you will be put on a waiting list. If spaces open up, you will be notified. The waiting list will be maintained until the beginning of the second marking period. After that the list will be discontinued.
- Once a parent has confirmed or declined acceptance to a school, the child's name will be removed from all waiting lists.
- If a student is retained in a grade other than the grade to which they applied, their application will be considered null and void and a new application must be submitted for the proper grade.
- Students attending private or charter schools must register for their local public school upon acceptance to magent school.
